प्लास्टिक से पुण्य — Turn Waste into Virtue
"When you choose not to litter, you earn punya.
When you inspire others, you multiply that punya."
Our Vision
From Plastic se Punya
in Dev Bhoomi"Plastic Se Punya" is one of her key initiatives aimed at protecting the sacred land of Uttarakhand—especially the Char Dham Yatra routes—from plastic waste. The campaign encourages people to see cleanliness not just as a responsibility, but as a way of earning spiritual merit (punya), while actively contributing to preserving the purity and sanctity of these holy sites.
The sacred journey of Char Dham Yatra is not just a physical यात्रा—it is a spiritual awakening. When devotees step into Dev Bhoomi, they enter the very abode of the divine.
But a question arises— If we keep our homes clean every day, why do we pollute the home of the Gods?
Plastic waste, especially bottles, scattered across these holy paths diminishes the sanctity of this divine land. True punya does not come only from दर्शन—it comes from responsibility..
✨ Our message is simple yet powerful:
Do not litter plastic in Dev Bhoomi
Respect the land that gives you spiritual peace
Carry back your waste as you carry back blessings
When you choose not to litter, you earn punya. When you inspire others, you multiply that punya.
This is not just an awareness campaign— It is a spiritual movement of conscious action.
The Three Pillars
When you offer prayers at Kedarnath or Badrinath and ensure not a single plastic bottle is left behind — that conscious choice is your real punya.
Every piece of plastic you pick up is an act of service to the divine land of Dev Bhoomi. Seva is the highest form of worship.
Choosing not to use plastic in these sacred spaces is a form of tapasya — a conscious discipline that honours the environment.
Protecting the natural world of the Himalayas is an act of bhakti — love and reverence for the Gods who reside here.
Shri Narendra Modi
Prime Minister of India
The “Plastic Se Punya” campaign is deeply inspired by the transformative vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has consistently redefined cleanliness as a form of devotion.
Through the Swachh Bharat Mission, he has reminded the nation that “Swachhta is Seva.”
His personal connection with Dev Bhoomi, especially Kedarnath Temple, reflects a deeper spiritual bond. From meditating in the Himalayas to actively leading the redevelopment of Kedarnath and Badrinath, his vision goes beyond infrastructure—it is about restoring divine dignity.
Under his leadership:
🕊️ His message is clear:
Cleanliness in sacred spaces is not optional—it is a national and spiritual duty.
“Plastic Se Punya” carries forward this vision at the grassroots level—turning every pilgrim into a responsible contributor.

A Sacred Ecological Duty
The Himalayas are not just mountains — they are living, breathing entities. Their fragile geological nature makes every act of pollution an irreversible wound.
Plastic waste pollutes the Ganga and Yamuna at their very origins in the Himalayas — tainting sacred water before it reaches the plains.
Himalayan wildlife frequently ingests plastic waste, causing injury and death to species already under pressure from climate change.
Plastic blocks natural drainage systems in fragile mountain terrain, significantly increasing the risk of dangerous landslides and flash floods.
Plastic waste in Dev Bhoomi is not just environmental damage — it disturbs a space believed to be the literal abode of Gods.
